Who am I?
I go by amc, and I read threads.
I was taught this form of divination as a child, but for a long time, I didn't take it
seriously. I only picked it up again about a year ago, and I've been practicing in earnest
for the past few months. Now, I'm doing my best to document everything I know before it
fades away. I have a background in mathematics, which I believe gives me a unique perspective
on the statistical side of this art.
Who is Ravel?
Ravel is one of the last people I know who practices thread reading. She learned it from the
same person I did, tough she was a much more applied student. Even if she currenlty keeps a
distance from reading, she agreed to share her knowledge and insights with me for this site.
While I may not always agree with her conclusions, our debates never fail to be enlightening.
Who are the other readers?
For obvious reasons, I can't share their real names. Since they will rarely be mentioned, I
did not bother to come up with fake names for them either. Here's a brief description of each:
-
Reader G - The person that taught me and Ravel. They were a very
traditional reader, and they were very strict about the rules of the art. She passed
away in the 2010s.
-
Uninterested Reader - Another of G's students. She never really took to
the art. She is still alive, but she doesn't want to be involved in this project.
-
Reader V - The oldest of G's students. She passed away in the late 2000s.
-
Reader B - She likely learned from the same person as G, but I'm not sure.
She passed away in the 2010s.
-
Reader P - She learned from B. She passed away in the early 2020s.
